HA! I just had the time of my life Decided to finish up some mapping as I had big empty chunks in the map that looked ugly for me..

Was wondering around Diessa Lowlands.. and tried an area which I had tried before but died miserably. You know the section sort of in the lower middle with what could be a Charr temple? Where there is only a small bridge to get to a whole lotta charr? To either side of the "bridge" are 2 small mounds you can climb up stairs to get to...

I'd been there before, but had been totally wiped out, multiple times.. down to -45% DP.. pfft!, as I wasn't too bright then and hadn't learned as much as I have now. So I decided to try it again and see how I went.

This time I took into account everything I had learned about pulling, sneaking and selectively picking groups/individuals off. So thats what I did.. I came in from the 1 side and slowly killed off the charr in as small chuncks as I could make it. Making running retreats to pull them away from others and just tackling things slowly and in numbers I could deal with. Yes, I lost adren in doing it slowly, but I also gained back some mana and health and it kept the henchies alive..

I managed to kill everything that was not on the final "ledge".. So far it had been a whole lot easier to do than I remember it being - having the right skills definately helps as well. Watch Yourself! time and time again saved me and the henchies. also my experience and knowledge of what to do and how to do it definately helped as well.

Then I had to do the ledge. Now that was a mongrel to do. And I admit the henchies died a few times. however, I did it. I snuck over till a few where in aggro range and then ran away and let them chace me before turning around and killing those in range. This definately worked in limiting the number of Charr I had to face each time. Unfortunately the henchies did die doing this. Thankfully I had Ressurect.

Actually, it got so hairrasingly close at 1 point I thought I was going to die myself.. was me and Reyna left and 2 or 3 more charr to kill.. and they were all attacking me.. my health was constently hovering between 50-100.. heh. I only survived because of Watch Yourself! and Healing Signet. could put up WY! and then hit Healing.. and then attack again till I had to rinse and repeat as needed. That extra armor from WY! is not to be underestimated early on in the game.

Eventually had killed enough that I could walk over and kill the few remaining on the other side! W00t! I had done it! I had conquered the Charr "Temple" in the diessa Lowlands! I had managed to do something I hadn't been able to do before.. and dang does that make me happy!

This is what I love about the game.. these challanges and trying to learn how to deal with them and overcome em. and do it with henchies! hehehehe

- Hydra's

Do these things have Insta-Alesia-Death spell or something? LOL I was mapping Ascalon foothills and the place is crawling with Hydra's! I definately made mapping it interesting. But I managed to do it..

however, virtually ever single fight with the Hydra's Alesia or one of the other henchies got killed (and to think I did this b4 the above heroics! eh, they musta all had some DP on em.. hehehe). I noticed them casting Meteor.. is that what would have been killing the henchies so quickly? I admit I was too busy trying to kill them to notice.. LOL

I guess I could interupt the spells somehow.. but that would require having Sprint & an attack that does an inturpt.. but I don't seem to have one right now.. so all I seemed to be able to do is attack and kill them asap.. while trying to live through the damn boulder tosser's attacks as well.. LOL

ah wells, I still managed to kill them all. Again I had attempted this earlier and failed. I've learnt a lot in the past few days.. and I guess it shows by the fact I'm surviving better. My armor and weapon and shield is the same still, only difference is the use of WY! and better tactical sense.. heh .. now onto the next challange..
